Born and raised in the United States, Blondah Fritaud earned a degree in German Language and Literature from Columbia University in New York City in 2000. After graduating, he moved to Germany, where he has since worked as a freelance translator and editor in Berlin. Blondah’s earlier projects include a long-standing collaboration with English Express on a series of film books by Taschen publishers. He has also done regular translation work for the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) and Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg. His areas of expertise are architecture, new media and politics.
Partner, Head of German Subtitles
A movie buff with over 20 years of experience in the film industry, Stephan is as gifted at solving technical problems as he is creative ones. Since earning a B.A. in Film Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles, Stephan has continued to hone his technical expertise in translation, subtitling and film dubbing from our Munich office.
Head of English Subtitles
Lyz Pfister is an American writer and translator living in Berlin. She graduated with a degree in English Language and Literature from Davidson College. She specializes in German-English subtitles, German-English translations and original-language English marketing and advertising texts. In her free time, she writes the food and culture blog Eat Me. Drink Me. and is the Editor-in Chief of SAND, Berlin's English-language literary journal. She is currently working on her first book.
Head of Graphic Design & 3D Subtitles
A Berlin transplant, Ellen Kaufman hails originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Ellen holds a B.A. in English Language/Literature and Classical Vocal Performance from Kenyon College. She is also a designer and photographer with a love for all things visual. As such, she specializes in writing and editing original copy about arts and culture, with a particular focus on film, theater, music, and digital media.
